Class and Programme Information

ENROLMENT PROCESS

Step 1. Fill out the registration form located above and advise us of which programmes/classes you would like your child to take for 2024. This is on a first in first served basis and we will create a waiting list if programmes/classes fill up. Please note that enrolments are automatically rolled over into the following term unless we receive an email withdrawing your child. If you danced with us in 2024 then you just need to fill out the re-enrolment form. The link above will take you there also.

Step 2. You will receive an email confirming your programme/class selections or any advice on alternative class options if we feel the selection is not correct.

Step 3. An invoice will be emailed to you shortly after and you are required to pay this prior to the start of term. No refunds will be given after the first session for new students. All returning students are expected to pay their fees prior to the start of classes and no refund will be given for changing your mind once we have closed off the Term enrolments.

GENERAL PROGRAMMES

General programmes to suit all abilities and commitments. If you are unsure what programme your child should be entered in then please contact us so we can help you.

Our pre-school programme is for dancers aged 3 – 4yrs old. Classes at this age are about having fun and discovering what dance is all about while learning the foundations of skipping, gallops, rhythm, bend, stretch and more. During the day and weekend options available however, we must have at least 5 children to run a class. On some occasions we will consider children who are 2.5years old but please check with us about this. Click the button for more information and term fees.

Our mini dancer programme is for dancers aged 5 – 6yrs old. These classes start to build more on the technical foundations of dance while still keeping the training fun and interesting. After school and weekend options available however, we must have at least 5 children to run a class. There will also be the opportunity for these students to put their name down for our performance squads. Click the button for more information and term fees.

Our step programme is for students 7 – 18yrs old. These are low-stress classes for children who love to dance, want to work hard, have the opportunity to sit exams (optional), want to perform in shows but don’t want the pressure of lots of hours and high stress trainings. There is also the opportunity for these students to put their name down for our exciting performance squads. Click the button for more information and term fees.

Our development programme is for students 7 – 20yrs old who are wanting to take their dance training to a higher level and are ready to handle the intense trainings that accompany this programme. There are compulsory examinations in both classical and commercial dance as well as performance opportunities. There will also be the opportunity for these students to put their name down for our performance squads. Click the button for more information and term fees.

PERFORMANCE SQUADS (competition work)

Silhouette is excited to provide this opportunity for non-academy dancers at Silhouette. These students will work with a tutor to create a routine that is entered into the in-house competitions during the year. There is also the opportunity they may be selected to represent Silhouette outside of our in-house comps at community performances. This will all depend on how hard the team works. Trainings will be similar to our Academy squad trainings in intensity to give the students a feel for what that looks like if that is a goal that they are aiming towards.

ACADEMY PROGRAMMES

Academy programmes are to extend dancers who show passion, promising ability and are very serious about their training and potential career in the performing arts sector. Acceptance into Academy programmes is by application and invitation only. Children in the Academy must also be doing the development programme classes as advised by the Academy staff.

Students in our Open Academy range from 9 – 20yrs old. A typical Monday Academy training session consists of a group warmup, work on squads for regional comps/other performances, a section of specific open coaching classes to build on the techniques they need more work on, have mentoring sessions over the year and work through choreography for our Academy performances such as our exciting Floor Show & Academy Showcase. This programme is for very dedicated children who are going to get on board and work as a team, push themselves to achieve their own personal goals, the goals of the team and be good role models at Silhouette.
