The mini academy programme has been created for children aged 5 – 8 years old who are already showing signs of natural rhythm, agility, confidence and co-ordination in the mini or development programme.
The children in our mini academy are given the chance to work more closely with our tutors and other children of a similar skill level to develop some really strong early foundations for dance and to give them more dance goals so they keep feeling challenged and inspired. Part of this focus is on teamwork and leadership.
A typical training will consist of a strength & stretch conditioning warmup, followed by a session working on their squad routine for regional competitions and then finishing with extension coaching which will be catered to each child’s strengths & passions.
Children in the mini academy will have the chance to perform in these shows…..plus all our in-house comps which happen once per term.

DECEMBER 10th – 12th – End of Year Showcase
Any child in our mini academy is welcome to do solos/duos/trios as part of our in-house comps. We will also be considering them for regional solos/duos/trios, however, this is by invite only and only if we feel it is the best step for them and their dance journey. We will also be aiming to enter their teams in this below regional competition.

There may also be other opportunities that arise during the year but information for these type of events will be emailed out before you commit as they are not part of our official calendar.
The annual fee below covers all academy sessions on our timetable, entry for competitions and a re-audition & end of year report fee. Costume hire is separate to this and will only be as required. When you sign up for mini academy, this is a year long commitment however, we have decided to make it easier financially and offer a half year payment option. You are required to pay the full fee regardless of whether you decide to leave during the year.
With this being our first year of Academy we are going to have a slightly different audition process. It will be based on the children’s work in class during 2020, any performances they have been involved in and a phone interview. Please mention on your enrolment if you are interested in your child being considered for mini academy and we will be in touch with you.
The 2022 intake will be based on an audition that will run on September 27th.
Due to academy being so reliant on a team effort we require each parent to sign an agreement on behalf of their child committing to the year ahead. It can be really upsetting for others if we have a lack of commitment from some and then have to pull the group out of performances so please read the full contract before signing.
